Bio

John Vinzant is a composer equally at home scoring for media including video games and films, as well as writing solo, chamber, and large ensemble works for public performance. His most recent projects include contributing music and sound design to three games in World Game Jams, recording a reading of his wind ensemble work Broceliande  with the Texas State Wind Symphony, and premiering his work for chamber winds, The Shadow of Stirling Bridge, with the University of Central Arkansas Wind Ensemble. His music for the short films Manic and The Paperboy was featured in the 2015 and 2016 University of Central Arkansas Film Festivals. 

Vinzant received a BM in Music Composition and Education from the University of Central Arkansas and  a MM in Music Composition from Texas State University. His teachers have included Michael Ippolito, Richard Hall, Blake Tyson, Paul Dickinson, Neal Moss, and Gerry Nichols.

Vinzant is the Assistant Band Director at the Don Tyson School of Innovation in Springdale, AR, where he also teaches music theory, composition, and sound recording technology. He lives in Springdale, AR with his wife Mallory and daughter Brooklyn.
